Kah Nursery wants to make your landscaping experience as pleasurable as it can be. To help us make this experience as pleasurable as possible we have listed a few things to allow you to know what to expect.

Design Start:

You may have some drainage issues in your landscaping, or your existing landscaping may be overgrown and/or starting to die off with age. Because of these problems you may decide to update your landscaping.

You start by:

Creating your dream landscape design in your head by looking at Landscape Designs in magazines or online

Print off or save photos of landscapes.

Think about the plants you like (Names of plants, Colors your like or don’t like, photos of plants)

Possibly think about where the sun falls on the house and where there may be more shade in areas of the house due to trees and other obstacles blocking the sunlight.

Lastly you may have started to think about your budget. Maybe you’re not sure what landscaping cost these days but know you don’t want to spend over a certain price range.

Initial Contact:

You have thought about some of these things above and know for sure you want a new landscape design created. Maybe you’re not quite sure what your next step is but have chosen Kah Nursery to help you with your next steps. One of our three designers will give you a call to set up an appointment with you as well as answer some general questions.

Note: It is very beneficial for our designers to meet with one or both owners of the home at this first initial appointment. This allows the designer to get all input and understand the personality and lifestyles of each Owner. This could be done over phone if necessary.

Initial Meeting:

Your designer will already have your address and phone numbers from your initial contact. The designer will meet you at your home to start the first initial meeting. This is where the designer will meet with you to go over what kind of design you would like to have done. After taking a look at the scope of the project that is desired he or she will go over some design fees with you. To move forward at this point a Design Startup fee is asked for. After the fee is collected the designer will take over and begin to do necessary measurements and take photos of the desired areas to begin to create your new design project.


After the initial meeting our designer will take the measurements and photos back to the office where he or she will begin creating your landscape design. The designer will then send you a few things back to you either through the mail or by email. You may receive photos allowing you to see how the landscape should look within a few years of the project being finished. You will also receive a customer proposal with an estimated price for the designed project.

Acceptance or new revision:  

After reviewing the photos of the design and the customer proposal you may have some questions about the design or want to know more about the design. The designer left you with his or her contact information in which you would call or email that designer to set up a new additional meeting usually at the office where you and the designer can go out and look at all the plants in person and look at plants and other aspects of the design. If there would be any new revisions the designer would then move forward with a new design as well as a new customer proposal and repeat the Proposal step.

If you receive the proposal and would like to move forward with the project you give you’re a designer a call to let him or her know that you are happy with the design and would like to move forward.

Option One or Option Two:

At this point there are two options you can decide to go with:

Option One: Tackle this project yourself

This option allows you to pay fee for our design as well as give you the rights to the design. At that point you can do what you want with the project.

Option two: We handle the Install

This option means we do the project for you. We have three full time landscaping crews that will allow us to get to your job within a few weeks depending on the size of the project and Nature. During this time we finalize materials like colors of pavers or we acquire plant material necessary to finish the job.

Project Preparation:

Before your scheduled start date your Designer, Project Manager, and Crew Foreman will be communicating with you letting you know about any delays or problems that may have arising since the scheduling process has started. Your designer will also come out to your property again and do a walk through with you. At this point he or she will also mark out the design to allow you to view the size of the beds and get a general idea about what it will look like. At this point you may still change your mind about the design and we can rework the size of the beds knowing that if you extend the size it may incorporate more material which would increase the cost of the estimate.

Project Installation:

Your Scheduled start date is here. Our Designer/Project Manager and the Crew Foreman will load up and head to your property. We make every effort to make the construction process as clean and as painless for you as possible. We also make every effort to make sure the jobsite is safe and tidy at the end of each day we are there.

Project Completion:

When your Landscape Project has been completed our Office will then take a look at and proceed to an invoice. We will then send you an invoice through the mail. You will also be able to stay in touch with your designer about any issues that may need fixed or any additional plant information help that you may need.

Post Completion and Maintenance:

At the end of your design and construction process you receive a warranty on all plant material. We also offer a Maintenance Solution to your brand new landscape.
